Biography Dr. Duponselle Eric F.C.

Since the early 1980s, Dr Duponselle has specialised in the treatment of varicose veins, both surgically and non-invasively. The combination of both perspectives has fascinated him from the beginning.

After receiving his PhD in 1972 from the Free University of Brussels, he worked as a Medical Officer in General Surgery at the University of Witwatersrand (Johannesburg). This was followed by training in Thoracic and Vascular Surgery at the Catholic University of Leuven.

After a period working as a hospital doctor, he decided to focus more on phlebology, more specifically its extramural approach, both at home and abroad. Thus, as founder and Medical Director, he remained associated for some 15 years with Stichting Polikliniek de Blaak, which is currently a leader in the field of varicose vein treatments with several branches in the Netherlands.

Dr Duponselle currently works part-time for the Clinical Pharmaceutical Unit (Johnson & Johnson) in addition to his phlebology. He is also a Licenciate in Physical Education, Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow) and holds a Masters in Occupational Medicine. He is the author of numerous publications and a member of the VBS, the Belgian Society of Vascular Surgery and the European College of Phlebology.
